Dragana
Petkovic's orientation in her pedagogical work for almost eight
years now has been towards elementary music school level. Working
in Josif Marinkovic Music School as well as teaching in a private
capacity, established her as a teacher skillful and able to work
with success, both with children with musical gift, as with those
of average, or even under average level of musical predispositions.
In these terms, she has developed interest for experiment and
eagerness to develop and pursue in her work different teaching
techniques and methods.
Following this line of work, Dragana Petkovic for some time already
has been creating the exercises and compositions, designed especially
for the children in elementary music schools,
inspired with her own pedagogical practice. Now those works, together
with the compositions of her colleague and Deputy Head of Piano
in J.Marinkovic Music School, prof. Biljana Krstic, make part
of a book called ''Piano Exercises and Compositions for the Elementary
Music School'', in the preparatory phase for publishing.
Dragana Petkovic is also involved in the research work in piano
pedagogy, and in giving propositions for the new, reformed piano
syllabus. Alone and with her colleague, B.Krstic, she has published
some of her works in Serbian-Montenegrin pedagogical periodicals.
